Lights

We had a weekend that was lit up with Christmas magic!

On Friday, we headed to Zoo Lights. We had never done this before since Quinn is so sensitive to the cold. (Hello! Zero body fat! Which was confirmed by her surgeon who saw her innards!) it was drizzling rain, but it was the only weekend that really worked for us, so we bundled up and off to the zoo! Quinn, for the most part, loved it. She liked the lights at the beginning of the zoo best. In the middle of the zoo, we had to buy her some popcorn to keep her in her stroller. She did get cold, but a ride on the merry-go-round warmed her right up. As we were leaving the rain and the crowds were getting heavier, so I would say out timing was perfect.

It snowed all day Saturday, but it cleared up by the evening for the most part, so we forged ahead with out plan to ride Trax downtown to see the lights. Quinn did so well on the crowded train, and loved playing around at City Creek, but the minute it was time to get in her stroller (it was crowded!) she started freaking out, then we wouldn't let her touch the water (it was cold!), and then I dared to go use the restroom (I had to go!), and she lost it. Luckily, we recovered by providing her with leftover popcorn from the night before. However, she was completely uninterested in the lights. Oh well. She did like the displays of candy ornaments at Macy's. She was so excited to get back on the train, until I wouldn't let her run around like a wild child. We quickly became the family that everyone was happy to see go with their screaming child. Miss Quinn is a full blown two-year old.

If you ask her if she had fun downtown, you get a firm no every time. However, she will say she had fun at the zoo.
