The Book of Mormon Musical

Dalan and I went to see The Book of Mormon last weekend.  So good. It was filthy, of course, but we really loved it. It is very funny, and the music is so good.  Quinn loves all the songs that she has heard as well.  It was a fun night out, plus we ran into Jason and Toya, so that was an unexpected bonus.

Mini Golf and Batting Cages

I ended up not leaving the house for most of the week.  Not being able to drive is slowing killing me. It sucks.  By the time,Thursday rolled around and Dalan had the night off for the holiday, getting out of the house was a must.  So, we ran to Target (my dream is to get to go to Target and just wonder around all by myself) and then to Mulligans for some mini-golf and batting cages. My favorite!  And Quinn was a riot.

We had taken Quinn mini-golfing last year at Hollywood Connection (RIP), and she was never really that into it. But we figured you never know what a year will do in a kid's life. She played all 18 holes and tried on all of them.  Although, she hits the ball like Happy Gilmore and moves the ball wherever she wants.  She had a blast and was a lot of fun.  Dalan and I really enjoyed it too.  We didn't keep score and just played.  Dalan even got a hole in one!!!!

Next we were decided to try the batting cages. My absolute favorite.  It was fun. Dalan helped Quinn some, and she got a hit with his help, but really was just having a blast swinging and missing.  She was a really good sport.

We ended the night with some Frozen Yogurt and then setting out our chairs for the parade. A new record.  People are out of control. There should be a 24 hour rule or something.

Father's Day

We had a really nice day on Father's Day this year.  Dalan spent the morning putting together for Quinn's big girl room. (More on that to come when it is all the way done). He is totally the best dad ever.

Then we headed up to the Little's house for a BBQ. The girls swam and played and the adults ate and visited.

In the evening, we had another BBQ with at my parents' house. It was a nice evening.

Dalan and Jessi

Quinn had a sleepover with Ali and McKay a few weeks ago.  They went to the Lego store, and Quinn got a Little Mermaid set.  I believe McKay also got some new Legos too. They went to Chick Fila for dinner and played at the park.

Dalan and I went to Chipoltle for dinner, and then went to Mulligans.  We like mini-golf ok, but really like the batting cages. We especially like anytime we get alone. It's hard to imagine that once upon a time all our time was alone. I don't know what we even did with ourselves all the time. Ha, ha!

A silly comparison.

Bridal Veil Falls Hike

I hate hiking.

There I said it.

However, Dalan likes it.

And it would be nice if Quinn at least got exposed to it enough to decide if she likes it or hates it.

Plus, we live in a pretty incredible place with all kinds of amazing and beautiful pieces of nature really close by, and we should get outside and appreciate them.

So, last Friday we headed down to Bridal Veil Falls for a little hike (the second of the summer!), some time in the water, and then a little outlet shopping on our way back home.

We had a great time.

There I said it.

The temperature was perfect and it wasn't too crowded. Quinn loved feeding the fish. However, we didn't bring any change, so she just had to scrounge pieces of fish food off the ground.

We headed up the trail, and there was a sign saying it was a 5-10 minute walk up to the top. (It's not really the top, but it's as far as you are suppose to go unless you are some sort of expert.) I told Dalan to expect I would complain for the next 5-10 minutes, but then I didn't complain once. Ha!  Dalan told me I ruined the hike. Ha, ha!

Dalan and Quinn had fun at the top. I had an ok time. The heights make me a little nervous (am I sounded enough like a crazy person, yet?).

We hiked back down and Quinn played in the water some more. So fun!

We hit the outlets and Quinn and I both got some happies!  I would consider this day a win for sure!
