Piper

Last week, we put Piper to sleep.  It was so sad. Indescribably sad, in fact.  Piper had been my dog for nearly 11 years, ten of which I lived with Dalan, and Quinn had only known life with Piper.  She also spent a lot of time with our family, and they were all very sad at the news as well. There were lots of tears leading up to the day, and even though we are still hurting and missing her terribly, it was the right choice. Piper wasn't in good shape and was just getting worse.  I actually have a feeling of peace and comfort knowing she isn't suffering anymore, but oh man, do I miss that little dog.  We all do.

Piper was some dog, and she always kept us on our toes.  She ate things she wasn't supposed to, like underwear, burritos, birds, etc. She licked coins to no end. She loved McDonalds' fries. She had seizures, and crazy allergies. She would spite poop on the floor.  She loved to cuddle and get her white hair all over the place. She hated all other animals. She could speak, but pretty much, failed at other tricks.  She went from super skinny to round.  She loved us and we loved her.

It's weird to not have her around anymore.  Quinn really is having a hard time coming home to an empty house, and admittedly, it's strange.  I miss her wagging tail and licks with her Gene Simmons tongue.

Love you forever Piper Jean Louise Carsellers.

These pictures were taken after Dalan and I decided that it was time, but before we had talked to Quinn about it.  I caught a sweet moment between them.

This is after we talked to Quinn.

Quinn saying good-bye one last time.  (Tears)

And some oldies.

U T A H

The Utes are 5-0 so far this season and ranked number 4.  It has been such a fun season and we are really enjoying wearing our Utah gear and going to games. Go Utes!

At school in our Utes clothing...

Hanging out in our room...

Getting flu shots in our Utes clothing...

Gluten Free Expo...

The game...

Dalan hates my game time selfies- I was trying to match his expression...

Spook Alley

A family in our neighborhood put on a not so spooky spook alley as a fundraiser every year.  It is super lame for adults, but we decided to take a walk over there on Friday and check it out. It was super lame. Quinn liked it though, she said it was a little spooky and a lot of fun. When we got home, we realized that we had locked ourselves out of the house.  Ha ha.  We suck. Patti saved the day. :-).

Pumpkin Patch

Quinn and I met VaRonica, Alice, and Dean at a pumpkin patch the other night. There was a special event going on through VaRonica's realtor's group.  They had hot chocolate, donuts, face painting, and pumpkins. It was the perfect fall evening.  The kids had a blast. I think we were all smiling ear to ear the whole time.

Quinn and her Picasso inspired witch. I am making them with my class tomorrow and Quinn was my test run. It turned out so well.

Symphony

Quinn got a keyboard from Deanie.  The other day she announced she was writing a symphony. She brought the keyboard, her Frozen notebook, and a pen outside and got to work.

Homecoming!

We celebrated the 5th anniversary of Quinn's homecoming on October 1.   It is always serves as a reminder as how much time passed between her birthday and her finally coming home and even how much time passed between even her due date and her homecoming.

We kept it simple.  School, McDonalds for lunch for a Hotel Transylvania toy, a cupcake from Ali and Olive, and Ladies night with Titi and me.
