Quinn's 5th Birthday

Quinn turned 5!  Don't ask me where time has gone, because I don't know, but here we are and our tiny 15 oz baby is now 5!

We had a great day on her birthday.  I took the day off, but she went to preschool and got to be the birthday girl and share a treat with her class.  While she was at school, I ran some errands, and sneaked in some snuggles with Olive Mae. 

Dalan and I picked Quinn up from school, and dined at Chick-Fil-A for her birthday lunch.  She had a blast, as always, in the play place.  Next, we headed into the Sugarhouse/downtown area so Quinn could get her ears pierced.  She picked out some pretty blue jewels, and was all set.  The man who pierced her ears was so sweet and Quinn was a champ.  No tears, just a few flinches.  Then, it was time to pick up her birthday cake.  Her special Megamort birthday cake.  She was instantly in love! Seriously. 

She then spent some time bouncing off the walls until her guests arrived.  Dalan's family was still sick!  (BOOOOOO!!!!)  We had hamburgers, and fries for dinners, and then opened gifts.  Quinn was so enthusiastic and grateful.  She wanted an Animal (from the Muppets) costume and some drums, so we got her the costume and my parents got her the drums.  She was so hilarious.  She also got some legos, Disney barbies, and some money.  Thanks everyone! 

She was so excited to eat her cake.  It was great!  Her excitement was indescribably awesome.  Five year olds rule!

Gingerbread House contest with the Carlson's at Ali and McKay's house.  

The candy windows at Macy's and the lights at Temple Square.  Highlights- Quinn yelling, "where the hell are you guys going?" at my mom and me at Temple Square.  And me leaving the car running, yes running, the entire time in the parking garage while we were downtown.

Farm Days

Quinn loves animals, especially of the farm variety. (It is funny, we bought a season pass to the zoo, and have gone once, but we have gone to the farm four or five times. And might go back today for the Farmer's Market.) This week we went both to Wheeler Farm, and The Barn at Thanksgiving Point. And both time Quinn hung out with cute little boys named Isaac. Maybe one day there will be a great battle between the Isaacs for Quinn's attention, but for now they both just enjoyed a day at the farm with her.

Highlights from Wheeler Farm:
*Isaac teaching Quinn to throw rocks in the creek.
*Hissing geese.
* The pigs turning on Quinn, and biting her. She was fine. Just scared and disappointed that her friend would do such a thing.
* Quinn touching Isaac's pants, and Isaac explaining to her that they were HIS pants, and she shouldn't touch them.
* Isaac showing off for the big girls in the tree house, and trying to boss the big boys into a corner.
* Hanging out with Becca and Isaac!






Highlights from Thanksgiving Point:
* A cow that pooped on its own tail. Ellie was shocked. And fascinated.
* Turkeys that were ready to fight!
*Quinn's first pony ride.
* An off road wagon ride.
*Petting goats.
* Quinn peed through her diaper, and had to sit in her pee pants for the rest of the trip.
* Quinn's fascination with Annie's hair.
* Sharing puffs with Isaac. (And repeatedly hitting him, because Quinn plays so rough.)
* Hanging out with Hilary, Annie, Ellie, and Isaac!
