Bubble Run

Ali, McKay, Dalan, and I signed up for our  first 5k, The Bubble Run, way back in February.  We had big dreams of fitness. Then I had a seizure, and had a never ending respiratory infection.  Oh, and Ali gave birth via c-section.  Anyway, we are not in tip top shape.  So, we signed up Quinn too, and just walked most of it.  My mom came along to watch Olive and to be our cheering section. 

We had a really good time.  While I wish it had been less crowded and I had been in better shape, I am really proud of our group for doing it.  I am also really impressed at how well Quinn did.  Go our team!

Quinn's Plant Update

Three years ago, I posted an update about my success in reviving the plant that my parents had given us/Quinn after she was born. The plant was struggling, but I had had some luck in rehabilitating the poor thing. 

Well, I am happy to report the plant is doing super well today. It is crazy huge, and has been transferred into several new pots over the years. 

First Day of School- Jessi

I had my first day of school last Monday. It went very well. I have a student teacher this year, and I think she will be fabulous. I have 26 5th graders this year. They seem like a nice bunch of kiddos. I am gearing up for a great, although never easy, year!

Frozen

Frozen fever has infected our house. We watch the movie, we listen to the soundtrack, we act out the scenes, we sing the songs, we. . . Well, you get it. Quinn has Frozen fever and she has it bad. She does insist that Olaf's name is Frozen though.

Last weekend, the zoo had a Frozen Tea Party and animal encounter. Quinn loved LOVED loved it. They sang songs and did dances with Anna and Elsa. She did get really nervous and serious when it was her turn to personally meet the queen and princess. Ha ha.

Big Surprise

When we arrived at my parents' house for dinner tonight, they had a big surprise for us- A NEW SISTER!  Well, a new canine sister that is. 

Her name is Chloe and she is about as sweet and mellow as they come. And smart!  

She is about two years old, and a rescue dog that needed a new home. She weighs about 50 lbs, and I would guess that at least a third of it is her head. 

We were so excited to meet her and get to love on her all evening!  Well, most of us were excited. Piper and Hazel (????) took some time to adjust!

Quinn has discovered the camera.  She is borderline obsessed with it.  She has literally taken hundreds of pictures over the last couple of days, and has figuratively had hundreds of tantrums when we won't let her take photos, or try to help her take photos.
