Little Dippers

Quinn started gymnastics/tumbling through a program called Little Dippers today. She absolutely loved it. In fact, at the mere mention of Little Dippers she hugs herself and smiles. Her favorite part was the bars.

Dalan was a little worried at first that it would be over her head when they told her to get a mat and sit on it. But she did an ok job, and when another kid showed up crying and wouldn't leave his dad, Dalan knew it would be ok.

And it was. She had a great time, and loved trying all the new things. Hooray for Quinn being old enough to start doing things to wear herself out. And to be honest, it is overwhelmingly awesome that the little girl who weighed less than a pound just under two years ago is now doing normal toddler things.

Poor Piper

Piper had to take a little trip to the vet today due to a clogged anal gland, or as I like to call it, an ass bubble. It is really clogged apparently and she has a drain in her behind until Friday. And a cone of shame. I am painting a lovely picture here, aren't I?

Quinn is being really gentle and kind to Piper since she knows she is sick. And Piper is feeling really spry.... Considering.

Of course, this is not Piper's first ass bubble. She got one when I was like six or seven weeks pregnant with Quinn. I was really exhausted and rather than saving the seven meatballs left over from dinner, I fed them to Piper. The next day, she was having some problems down there. Dalan insisted there was a correlation between the meatballs and the clogging, but I was never convinced.

This time, no meatballs were involved.

However, the vet bill for an ass bubble is not pretty. So, for several reasons, let's hope this is the last time this problem pops up.

App

Becca introduced me to the face juggler app the other night, and I was instantly addicted. It is so easy to swap faces and the pictures are disgustingly awesome. Enjoy some of my masterpieces!

Love

Here is a picture that Dalan's cousin texted him today of all the cousins (that were born) on his mom's side in 1981. I think it is so cute, and it was very special to us to get it today.

Kids in the picture: Randy, Rob, Dalan
Babies in the picture: Jamaica and VaRonica.

We love Dalan's family so much! We are lucky to have such wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.

Comparisons

Quinn may be slightly sick. She has been running a slight fever, and has not been her normal self. She has required huge cuddle sessions at night. Poor thing, although I do love a cuddly, although slightly warm, baby. Therefore, I have had some time to sit around and neglect household chores and whatnot, as well as, create some more comparison photos. I hope Quinn will enjoy these one day. Of course, there could be some crazy photo comparison technology created by then, and these will just look dated. Oh well, I still like them for now.

Oh, and it is important to note, I am
limited to the photos I already have digital copies of, so I am sure there are better photos I could be using.

Captions!

It is rare that Quinn sleeps in her car seat, but after wearing her out on Sunday at the Planetarium, she was asleep basically by the time we left the parking garage.
Here is Quinn telling me she will be "two" in May.  See her month forming the "oo" sound, and her two fingers together to indicate the number two.  Adorable!
Crazy monkey finished her chocolate chip pumpkin muffin.  She has talked non-stop about cupcakes since Isaac's party.  So, I made her some night, with a healthy-ish twist.
Quinn is licking the cupcakes in her book.  She is saying, "cupcake, yum."  The girl is obsessed.

I gave Quinn her first blow out tonight.  It looked so cute.  She is investigated where the "wind" came from that I used to dry her hair.
Just hanging out on Mars.  Quinn loved the Planetarium.  She was literally bouncing off the walls.
Dancing with dada.  One of my favorite memories will be from lat Saturday- Dalan playing with Quinn while she was in the tub, and then dancing around the living room with her to Show Tune Saturday Night.  Life doesn't get much better.
Quinn looks very weary of what she is seeing on the moon.
Quinn and Alice in an adorable hat going on walks.  Quinn is about 6 weeks (adjusted) here, and Alice is about 3 weeks.  We make cute babies!
Isn't she gorgeous?

Easter Weekend- The Rest

We had a great Easter day! Quinn looked adorable in her dress. We ate two delicious ham dinners, got to visit with cousins, aunts and uncles, grandmas and grandpas, and Nana! Quinn was spoiled by all with new toys, books, a SWING, and a ZOO PASS! We had a great day!

Twenty-Three

Dear Quinn-

You turned 23 months old today! It is almost time for the March for Babies and for your second birthday.

* You know your birthday is in May and that you will be turning two, although you refuse to put two fingers up on the same hand, and just put one finger up from each hand, and put them together.  You are very smart, but very opinionated these days.

* You are talking up a storm, and know lots of words.  I have lost track. You know your last name is Sellers, but you are more random if you will say Quinn is your first name.  Sometimes you just say, "me-me" which means baby usually.

*  You are still really physical and daring.  We got you a little plastic slide, and it took about 15 minutes until you were going down it head first.  You love to take risks.  This is a characteristic that will probably take you far in life, but it scares your caregivers to death sometimes.  You love to climb, run, dance, jump, swing, slide, and be thrown in the air.

*  You love books!  You can read for hours and hours.  You are good at pointing at things in books, and even try to "read" them yourself now by saying a lot of gibberish.

*  You are tiny.  It seems like you are always getting taller, but you are still pretty thin.

*  You say food is either "good" or "yummmm"  now.  You generally like to eat, and don't fight it anymore.  You love chocolate chips the most I think.

*  You are sleeping like a newborn baby and it is killing us!

*  You love babies, animals, and other kids.  We are still working on sharing, but you are very kind and gentle usually.

*  You love Curious George, Sesame Street, and the Muppets.

*  You love clothes, and think they are cute, or pretty, but you prefer to be naked.  We have toyed with potty training, but nothing consistent yet.

*  You love your guy-guy, but pretty soon they will only be allowed in your room.

*  You give great hugs and kisses, and knucks.

*  You love to be tickled.

* You hate to see anyone sad or hurt.

*  You are silly, and love to goof around.

*  YOU ARE AWESOME!

Well, Miss Quinn, you are quickly closing in on two years old, let's enjoy your 23rd month.  It is such an amazing experience to be your mom and dad.  We can't wait to see you keep growing and learning.  We love you so much!!!!!!

Love,
Mama and Dada

Easter Weekend- Sunday Morning

We did not wake up until almost ten on Easter morning (sleep has been a challenge around here), but Quinn was so excited when we told her the Easter Bunny had been to our house. However, as we walked down the house Quinn was ornery and clingy, but then she saw her giraffe Easter basket and was so excited. She was even more excited to find eggs filled with chocolate chips in it. Next she searched for her real eggs, and took a while to warm up to it. Finally, she opened her gifts from the bunny. She got an owl ottoman, some books and stickers, and a toy puppy. She also enjoyed played with the Easter grass! Ha!

Easter Weekend-Ali and McKay

On Saturday afternoon, we found out why Ali and McKay ditched out on the egg dyeing fun- because they were busy getting engaged! Hip hip hooray! McKay whisked Ali on a surprise getaway to Park City, and popped the big question! We are so happy for them! It is totally the best news ever! I love an engagement and I love a wedding! And, of course I love them!!!!

Then, that evening Ali and McKay were kind enough to take Quinn to the monthly family/Easter celebration at his parents' house. Quinn got to run around with other little kids, and they even hid eggs for her. She was the purple eggs! My favorite story of the night was when Adri, the oldest niece, came up and told Ali that Quinn was downstairs licking the dog bed. Ha! That's our crazy girl! Thanks so much for including her, and letting us go to dinner Quinn-free!

We are so lucky to have McKay and his family officially joining our family, however, honestly it has felt as of they have already been for quite some time. I just love McKay so much, and I am so excited about this engagement!!!!!
