Weight Watchers Week 5

This week I was not a loser. I was not a winner either. I was a gainer. Sigh. So frustrating.

Weight loss: plus 2
Total weight loss: 10.6

Goal: no more sneaky snacking. :-). I was just so hungry and tired of feeling hungry. But I hate the feeling if gaining more. So, here's to a better week.

Quinn 2.5

Dear Quinn,

Happy Half Birthday!  We have hit the half way mark for two, and now will start inching closer to three years old!  I cannot believe I can start telling people I have a two and a half year old.  That makes me happy and sad all at the same time.  I am happy that you are a sweet, sassy, smart, silly, and stubborn two and a half year old.  I am sad that you are in no way, shape, or form a baby anymore.

At 2.5 years old, you....

* are longish and lean.
* wear size 2 T tops, jammies, and dresses, 18-24 month bottoms, and size 5 shoes.
* have dark blonde hair that is curly/wavy and goes past your shoulders.
* have "husky" blue eyes

* love letters, and know all of them.
* know your colors and shapes.
* are a master of technology, especially apple products.
* love to color and draw.
* use your imagination more and more.
* like cars, kitchens, babies, and bikes.
* love to read.  It is the only time you sit still.

* watch PBS, and Disney, your favorites are Superwhy, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Curious George
* also like the movies Cars, and Finding Nemo.
* listen to The Muppet Movie soundtrack non stop

* have a huge vocabulary
* will put together sentences, but not all the time.
* love to go to tumbling, and your favorite is the bars.
* are always running, jumping, or moving in some way.
* swing and climb on everything!

* are a great cousin to Alice, and are mostly gentle and kind to her.
* love your family, and are very generous with the hugs and kisses.
* are still a daddy's girl.
* love all animals, especially kitties.
* are Piper's best friend and worst enemy, you love to hug and tease her.

*  are an ok eater.  Your favorite foods are meats, cheese, beans, yogurt, chocolate milk, and of course, candy.
* have been sleeping like a newborn, and don't like bedtime.
* don't like to get up in the morning, either.
* love to take a bath, and would stay in there forever.
* have decided pants and diapers are for suckers, and won't keep them on.
* hate to have your hair brushed most of the time.
* sometimes have to go to the corner for timeout.

* always ask if we are going to grandma's when we get in the car.  If the answer is no, you then ask if we are going to "Kay's, Cout's and Alla's?"
* like to tell the temperature.  It is either "hot" or "BEERRRR!  Cold!"
* told us the other night, "Bed.  I go." Just like a little Yoda.
* exclaimed the other morning, "Mama! (s)Nowin'."
* got a bad case of the giggles at bedtime, and couldn't stop laughing.
* will count, "two, two, two" when you are on timeout.

We love you so much!  And we are so very lucky to be your parents!

Loves,
Mama and Dada

I Liked This...

I saw this on Pinterest last night.
I liked it, a lot.
Maybe, because at the grocery store Quinn ate a bag of goldfish while we shopped.  Something I said I would never let her do.
Maybe, because she turns two and half this week and still has a binkie.  I used to hate binkies, especially toddlers with binkies.
Maybe, because I am constantly working on not judging other mothers, and constantly trying to remember motherhood is not a competition.  We are all doing our best.
Maybe, because one of the nicest things a person ever said to me was, "She'll be fine.  We aren't worried, and you shouldn't be either," while flying with year-old Quinn.
And maybe, because Quinn is in an incredibly fun/incredibly exasperating stage of development.  Both parts require a sense of humor at all times.

Randoms

Love Piper's "listening ears."  She looks like a huge bat.
This is a screen shot from my instagram account.  Look at what a little baby Quinn was 71 weeks ago.
This picture was taken to show Scout trying to curl up on a too small of pillow, instead we got laser dog!
Snow!  Last year vs this year.
Quinn licking the plate clean after some pie last night.
Things to note in this photo.  Quinn wearing her shirt in the style of Tarzan.  And Dalan cleaning the TV, because Quinn drew all over it with crayon!
Quinn scaring herself by turning on the vacuum and running.  Note- she is pantless.  She refused to wear pants or a diaper for most of the day yesterday.

Practically Perfect

Yesterday was one of those practically perfect days. I spent the morning getting pedicures, shopping, and lunching with my mom and sister. I spent the afternoon with Dalan, Quinn, and Piper. We played, and played. Quinn's giggles were contagious. In the evening, the entire Sellers/Little clan (all 8 of us) watched the U game at our house. Alice fell asleep first, and the Quinn and me. The rest stayed up late to watch the rest of the game.

Practically perfect, I tell you.

A Bunch of Turkeys

So, I saw an idea on Pinterest, in which, you make "turkey hands" each year as a Thanksgiving decoration. I thought it was cute, and would be fun to have Quinn's hand traced each year, and decorated by her at each stage of her artist development. However, this year I started the craft after she had already been coloring for a while, and she was kind of over it. So, she has a mostly white turkey.

Of course, the lady in Pinterest had her turkeys framed and labeled. I didn't have the right size of frame, so our turkeys are just scotch taped to the wall. Maybe I will find one that is long and tall enough, and doesn't cost a fortune, or maybe they will just stay on the wall.

Plus, Thanksgiving is Dalan's favorite holiday, so hooray for Thanksgiving decor in between the Halloween and Christmas.

S-N-O-Double

(Double is how Quinn says "W." It is pretty adorable. And I stole this clever title from my mom.)

Anyway, we got lots and lots of snow today. Quinn thought is was exciting, as well as, "BERRRRR, cold!"

She had fun outside in the snow, but would keep her gloves on, and eventually her hands just got too cold. And there were tears.
