The face of addiction
We all know Quinn loves, loves, loves her binkie! However, once we started limiting her binkie time to see if she would eat better (it didn't make a difference), she started sucking/chewing on her hands. Also, it is a normal developmental step for a baby of her adjusted age. However, her hands just don't satisfy her the same as her binkie does, so she often gets totally frustrated. It is not uncommon that she will end up sucking on her nasal cannula for her oxygen, or pulling her feeding tube out (all while leaving it taped to her face.)

Isaac's all about sucking on his hands now, but doesn't seem to soothe or calm himself with it, it's more just a toy to chew on . . . :-)
Oh yes .. slobbery hand sucking. It's so cute though. Since the limitation of the binky didn't make a difference with her eating does that mean that she is allowed to have it back again? I remember it being a double edged sword with Baylee. Binky sucking was good for building that muscle strength but then at the same time bad because it would tire those muscles out.
Well, now I am glad Isaac isn't attached to a binkie, but when he was Quinn's age, I would have killed to have something he could self soothe with at night like that bink Quinn loves so much! :)
