Circus

We took Quinn to the circus at the end of September. She was so excited and looking forward to seeing the elephants. We had some last minute errands to run that day for the preemie auction and they went faster than expected, so we found ourselves downtown with some time to kill. We popped over to City Creek and took Quinn to the Disney store. She thought we were at Disneyland and she was pleased as punch.

We walked over to the arena for circus time. Quinn was so excited to eat her giant tub of popcorn. She was really loving the circus until someone sat in front of her and she couldn't see. However, she really enjoyed the first half. She also had a blast playing with her new light up kitty ears during intermission, but then the circus got a little long for her attention span, and she had a hard time sitting until the end. Three year old problems, I tell you. :-).

Halloween Kick Off, 2013

Halloween is one of the holidays we look forward to around here. Ok, if we are being honest, Quinn and I look forward to all holidays, and Dalan is learning to like them more and more. Yesterday, we kicked off the Halloween season by decorating the house, and pulling out our Halloween clothes.

Quinn loved decorating our front window with clings with Dalan. She has admired it all day today.

I also bought Quinn and Piper matching bone jammies. A Halloween must in my mind.

And every year, I like to get a photo of Quinn in a Halloweenie themed shirt. It is so fun to see how she has grown and changed each year.

Hideous

I have a ton of activities and events to blog about, but I have been feeling too hideous. I got sunburned/windburned last week at the preemie auction, and my lips were destroyed. They look so bad and hurt even worse. It is awful.  I feel self conscious in a way I haven't since I was a teenager. And it was picture week at school. But the pain was even worse. They have been many tears, and sleepless nights. It is awful.

The good news is I am starting to be in less pain, and they look slightly better.

I should have taken the rest of the week off of work....

When I woke up on picture day....

Make up and filter magic....

So much pain...

Serious, serious pain.

Soccer Photos

I never posted Quinn's soccer photos. Or  gave them out. Money and time well spent. Life is busy, and sometimes my best intentions get pushed to the side.

Quinn was not the most cooperative. And lucky me, I ended up in the team photo.

Well, here they are. Four and half months later. :-).  Oh and they are photos of photos. Nothing but timeliness and quality around here.

Fair 2013

We love the Utah State Fair. Sure, it is dirty and expensive, but it is always a good time. This year the rainy weather forced us to cancel our plans more than once, and it was almost looking like we were going to run out of chances to go.

Luckily, on the last Friday around 4:30, the rain stopped and we hopped in the car and headed down. It was pretty empty, which made it pretty awesome. I think the continuous rain that day scared people away, and we had the place practically to ourselves.

Quinn LOVED the fair. And it was so much fun to go with her. She loved the animals, the science area they had this year, the fake farm, and the food, but she especially loved the rides!  She is such a daredevil. She would have gone on every ride if she was tall enough.

We went on the big yellow slide twice, and she begged to go on it a third. She wanted to go the big hammer flipper doodle thing so bad. Next year, we might have to buy her a wrist band for unlimited rides. She was also legitimately 36 inches tall- no lagoon shoes or big hair needed.

And, the skies stayed clear and the weather was a perfect t-shirt and jeans temperature.  It was a great afternoon at the fair!
