Birthday Weekend

Dalan had a birthday on Friday, and took some extra days off of work, which was so nice. I know both Quinn and I enjoyed the extra time with him. He also ordered himself a Mardi Gras GF cake and we had our families over for some birthday treats. Dalan was so excited to get his Simpson's Lego House.

Quinn was so excited to be having a "party."  She was literally bouncing off the walls while we were getting ready. She insisted we decorate with balloons and all wear party hats. It was adorable. However, the post party let down was more than she could handle. She ended up going to bed heart broken.

In other news, my Nana is set to get out of her rehab on Friday. We are so happy for her, but are going to miss the ice cream socials.

I also found a picture of teeny tiny Quinn wearing basically the same vest as she was wearing on Friday. Funny.

On Saturday, we met up with the Little family at the zoo.  So much fun. We honestly just love our zoo pass.

Dalan and Quinn made some cookies that evening. Quinn called Dalan Chef Daddy the whole time and we had to call her Chef Quinn. It was adorable.

Quinn also grabbed the mop from the laundry room (it is stored hanging up and came down with a crash) and did some mopping.

And then watched some Cinderella. Dalan was just glad it wasn't Cars. He is making her give up Cars for Lent.

After Q went to bed, Dalan worked on his Legos.

Quinn's new favorite thing to play is school. Of course, that means I get to "play work" all the time now.

We went to see the Lego movie on Sunday. It was cute.

More Legos when we got home.

It was also sweat suit Oscar Sunday for me!

Super Saturday

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you already know we had a super fabulously fun day yesterday.  The weather was nice enough (in the high 40's), so we headed off to the zoo. Quinn had the idea to bring her camera, so she could take photos. She stole the show at a few exibits with her adorable photography.

Here are (some of) my photos from the zoo....

Here are (some of) Quinn's....

Then in the evening we went up the U of U gymnastic meet. It is always fun.  Both my mom and Dalan's mom were able to come!  Quinn was in heaven to have both of her grandmas in one place!  Plus she loves riding the train, the band, and the treats. She does have a hard time watching the entire meet.

President's Day

We had a fun President's Day.  I am so grateful for my school schedule, and although teaching can be exhausting, I am glad that a teacher's schedule works so well with my mom schedule!

Quinn and I played with shaving cream in the morning. I had wanted it to be more of a writing activity, but she was having too much fun to focus on her letters. Maybe next time.

A bath was necessary next as the shaving cream was in her hair. I could hear her playing with Minnie and talking about going to the zoo. I walked in to see Quinn had created the sign for the zoo and everything.

Then the power went out. Quinn was convinced that Dalan could just fix the lights for us.

I braided Quinn's into a crown for the birthday party she was going to later. It looked so cute.

We ran to the store. Nothing like selfies in the car.

Later, we went to Quinn's friend Lexy's party. Quinn had a blast!  Ariel came. And Quinn was hilarious. She kept raising her hand to share stories or answer questions she didn't know the answers to. She was enthusiastic and loud. Then when it was her turn to sit with Ariel. She got really nervous. Ha ha. I love her little nervous stone serious face.

Finally a smile...
