Millions of Photos Part 1

Here's the deal, I don't have millions, but I do have thousands of photos on my phone that were taken since Easter. And now my phone (as usual) is running out of storage. Dalan loaded them on the computer for me, but I would like to do a giant photo dump blog post from my phone and then delete them all and start fresh (for another couple of months).

Backpack-  Quinn loves her backpack (and now purses too). On this night, she begged to sleep with her backpack on, but it just wouldn't work.  And sleeping next to it, well, that wasn't good enough. I did catch her wearing it first thing in the morning.

Me-  I moved to a new school. It was bittersweet, but a good choice. I have been having school nightmares all summer though. Oh, and I cut off 15 inches of my hair. It feels so good. Oh, and Quinn and I stopped using shampoo. We are no-poo girls now.

Thanksgiving Point- Dalan, Quinn, and I used some of the passes we bought/won (I am not sure of the right word) from the Got Preemie auction and went to the farm and the Children's Garden at Thanksgiving Point. It was a blast!

Huck Finn Day-  Quinn and I met up with the Vala family for a morning of fishing at Huck Finn Day in South Salt Lake. Except, it was kind of a bust. I know nothing about fishing, and the loaner piles were not the best quality. Oh well, it was fun enough.

Well, this is long enough. I guess I will photo dumps in parts. More coming soon.

Fourth of July 2013

I love the 4th of July, and this year did not disappoint. It was full of family, food, fireworks, and fun. We started our morning with the parade, then had lunch at Dalan's parents' house, dinner at my parents' house, and ended the evening with fireworks! It was a lot of fun.

My favorite Quinn quote of the day (as the parade started), "Shoot!  I can hear the cops!"

My second favorite (while playing in Nana's car), " There are far too many buttons."

NICU Reunion

We had our NICU Reunion last weekend.  It was Quinn's first time attending since she was still in the hospital in 2010, on vacation in 2011, and sick in 2012.  This year the theme was super heroes. And Quinn dressed up like Superman. She looked adorable and got lots of compliments.

It was hot. Like 106 degrees hot. And Quinn fell asleep in the car on the way and woke up in a grumpy mood. She only wanted to go to the playground.   Luckily, after some dinner, she felt better.  She played some games, and got a balloon animal.

Then, I had to go to my volunteer station, so Dalan took Quinn around to get her face and nails painted. She also went and danced to the DJ, and then got to spend some time on her beloved playground.

It was a great time!

Princess Festival

We got some passes to the Princess Festival at Thanksgiving Point as an incentive prize for our fundraising for March for Babies.

My mom, Quinn, and I headed down last Saturday morning, and were unfortunately not that impressed. I guess I should clarify, and say we probably would have had more fun if Quinn was older and more into princesses.

She was more into doing the activities at the children's garden than any of the princess activities, but that was ok, because beside finding and taking pictures with the princesses (which Q hated) there wasn't much to do. There were a few activities, but they all cost extra (and weren't that cool).

We did pay to go on a carriage ride in Cinderella's carriage, and Quinn really liked it. She also thought she was beautiful in her dress and crown, so for a mostly free event (for us), it was probably a win. And we got a free trip to the children's garden.  However, unless we are given tickets again or if Quinn become a seven year old princess fanatic (god help us), we will not be going back.

Cousin Camp

We were so lucky to have Alice spend a week at our house this summer. Quinn and Alice love each other (and squabble) like sisters. We have so much fun when Alice comes to visit.
