Easter Weekend- Saturday Morning

On Saturday morning, we met up with Becca, Dave, and Isaac for an aquatic Easter egg hunt at Murray Rec Center. It was a lot of fun. It look Quinn a minute to get that she was suppose to keep picking up eggs after she had found one of two, and by that time all the eggs were gone, but that is ok. We turned in our eggs and got a fun prize pack and had a good time. After the hunt, the kids went swimming with their dads, and Quinn went down the big slide for the first time. Quinn and Isaac also shared several kisses, including one that Quinn tried to introduce tongue to the situation.

After swimming, we headed over the Harmon's and met the Easter bunny. Quinn was fascinated by him. She did not want to sit on his lap, but rather play with him. She ended up dancing with him, hugging him, chasing him, and giving him knucks! It was super cute.

Easter Eggs

On Friday night, we headed over the my mom and dad's house to dye Easter eggs. When we got there, we found out that my siblings had ditched out on the yearly tradition. (More on that later....let's just say one of them had a valid excuse.)

Quinn and Dalan were interested in the coloring of the eggs for about five minutes. So, that left Patti, Red, and me to dye three dozen eggs ourselves with dye from 1999 or something. It sucked, and out eggs all faded into lovely shades of browns. That is ok though, we had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs!

This is one of my favorite things to look forward to each year! I hope Quinn likes it a little more each year!

Thanksgiving Point

On Friday, we were lucky enough to be invited by the Johnson's and the Watt's to Thanksgiving Point for some fun.  The weather wasn't great, but we bundled the kids up and went to the farm first.  It was a blast, we saw baby animals, and the kids went on a pony ride.  Quinn continues to be a natural on a horse, and I can possibly see some very expensive lessons in our future.  :-)

Next, we went up the Dinosaur Museum.  I had never been there before.  It is a very cool place.  Quinn ate sand from the erosion table, and gagged, but other than that she was also very impressed.  She showed her appreciation by being a crazy woman, and running all around.  Luckily, we had Annie to help with the Quinn wrangling.  I might need to take Annie on all our outings from now on.   :-)

Thanks guys!  We are up to an invitation anytime as long as you are up for another trip in public with the mongoose!  Also, I stole these pictures from Hilary, because she took them with her fancy camera, and put them into fancy collages.  Basically, I am just jealous of her fanciness, and therefore feel the need to steal from her!

Silly Sue

Quinn has a wickedly awesome sense of humor.

Example 1: During dinner the other night, she unzips her hoodie, and starts tickling the monkey in her onesie. She tells us, "tickle, tickle monkey," and goes back to eating dinner. So silly!

Example 2: That same night, while I was rocking her to bed, she pushed my hair behind my ear, stuck her binkie in my ear, and said, "guy-guy.". A few months ago, we used to ask her where her guy guy did not go, and she would stick it in her ear, but we haven't played that game forever. However, it must have popped into her head. Crazy girl.

Spring Break Part 1

My Spring Break is half over. It has flown by, and while we are having a blast, it seems like Monday is already taunting me. You see, my student teacher is done for the year, so when I go back to work, it will be only me. Teaching. By myself. Urgh!

We have done a lot of fun things over the past three days.

On Monday, Ali came over and we ran some errands, including going to the library. Quinn got a book about potty training and has been very interested in the subject ever since.

We also went to the March for Babies kick off party. Quinn had a blast running around with all the other preemie kiddos.

We then went up to my Nana's. She is doing so well since her surgery. Quinn played with a little battery operated bunny she has, and giggled so hard. It was adorable! We also had fun visiting with all our relatives that were up there.

On Tuesday, we went to the aquarium. It was a zoo. Ok, it was the aquarium, but it was more crowded than I have ever seen it. Quinn was more interested in the tv screens and signs than the actual animals. She did like the rays and the puffer, but loved being shocked by the electric eel. She kept saying, "shock good. Good. Again shock. Good."

We headed up to LaDene and Ron's and Quinn played in the yard with her grandparents and dad, while I got to visit with VaRonica and cuddle with Alice.

When we got home, Quinn took off her diaper, peed, and told me, "pee pee." she know pee pee goes in the potty, but no luck getting her to actually do it yet.

I also ran to Target with Quinn, my mom, and Ali. I got some killer deals while there. I love that shopper's high.

On Wednesday (today), Quinn woke up at 3:30 am, and stayed up. She watched PBS from 5-7:30, and finally went back to sleep. I woke her up at 11, and she was a major grump. However, she ate and became less grumpy.

We then went to Wheeler Farm with my mom. Quinn was not as interested as usual in the animals. She just wanted to sit and play in the dirt. Funny girl.

We ran to Kmart and found some unders that fit Quinn. She stayed dry for two hours, and tried to sit on the potty, but couldn't make anything happen. I know we are on the early side for training, but we'll try if she's interested and back off when her interests change.

Pictures

Quinn is growing and learning so much.  I feel like I am behind blogging on her new found independence, and her cute little personality, as well as, behind on posting pictures.  I am going to put a little story with each picture, and hopefully capture Quinn at this stage.

Quinn petting a goat on our bike ride.  She loves animals.  She has no fear.  She went right up to the fence, and started calling the goats.  She talked about petting them all day long.  She also loves going on bike rides, and is getting better at leaving her helmet on during the ride.

Quinn is a climber.  She climbed out her high chair and almost onto the freezer the other day.  Every time she sees this photo she tells me, "no, no."
Quinn loves playing with all her toys.  One of her favorite activities is pulling all her stuffed animals out of their bins, and telling you their names or what sounds they make.  I think she looks like a little stuffed animal herself.
This is her mad face.  She loves to make faces in the mirror after her bath.  I love how serious she is about her mad face in this picture.
We let Quinn have some naked time every night.  She loves it, and it often makes an angry baby into a happy one.  It also often means little accidents on the floor.  The other night she pooped.  Then wiped her own bum.  So cute.
Quinn loves to drink "coca" even though she has never had soda.  She loves to pretend to drink out of empty bottles.
Quinn had a Slurpee the other night.  She loved the straw more than the actual drink, but she did like it. She is a better eater and drinker than ever.
Quinn loves to use the feature of the reverse camera on the iphone, and make silly faces as I take her picture.  Her favorite thing to do now is to go back through the photos and mimic her expressions, or if she is watching a video, to respond to the questions.
This is probably her favorite face.  She loves to show her teeth.
Quinn has been prone to a temper tantrum or ten a day.  She was crying in this picture, because I turned off the Muppets soundtrack.  She still loves Sesame Street, but prefers listens to the Muppets over watching Sesame clips these days.
Quinn ate a cookie the other night.  She had it all over her hands, and face, so I threw her in the tub.  She was finishing her cookie while the tub filled up.
This is Quinn's happy face.  She is really the happiest kid most of the time!
Eating cheese.  Quinn has been loving cheese lately, although, she does love sharing it with Piper!
Quinn had her first official cupcake at Isaac's party today.  She was so messy, she had to eat it on the porch in the rain, but she did not care.  She loved it.  She talked about it all day.  She looked adorable covered in chocolate.
She also participated in her first pinata today.  She got three items, and was done.  She loved the snacks in the egg, and the little rattle toy, but was more interested in running around in the rain.

Cousin Comparisons

Here are some super cute and super fun photos of Quinn and Alice in some of the same clothes! Hooray for baby girl cousins!
