Taylorsville Dayzz 2015

Tonight was dollar ride night at Taylorsville Dayzz, and the tickets were 10 for $10.  So after my mom, Quinn, and I ate dinner at Cafe Rio, we headed over to the park. Quinn had a blast!  She is still a dare devil and would go on all the rides, if she was only tall enough.

This year, there was a ride that spun on an arm type of thing. Quinn technically wasn't tall enough, but the carnie eye balled her and told me she looked tall enough to him.  She was a little nervous when it started spinning and dropping. (I am doing a poor job of describing this thing.) However, once she knew what to predict she loved it.  She also loved the big slide.  She went on that twice.  Once with me and once without me.  My baby is definitely growing up.  Now, if we could only get her to grow taller!

We spent about two hours at the carnival, and spent 12 bucks (tickets plus an ice cream for Quinn).  It was a pretty perfect summer evening.

Kiddie rides-

The big slide-

A comparison pic from last year to this year. It was free Frozen night and it was rainy last year, this year not free and not rainy at all.

Quinn's Big Girl Room

Quinn's room was basically still her nursery.  Sure, the crib had been replaced by a bed, and we had added a book shelf and taken out the couch, but the walls were exactly the same as they were when we brought her home from the hospital.  I loved that nursery and the cupcake yellow walls, but it was time for an update. I had been slowly collecting items to redo it more in the style of a beach/mermaid theme. I knew we needed a new bigger dresser and I wanted to get her a loft bed so there would be more room for activities.  We also ended up buying a new bookcase as well.

Quinn helped pick the wall color- a light blue called, "Swimming" and I ordered a bed online and we set off on redecorating her room.   My mom and I ran to Ikea one night and used our major muscles to load the dresser and the bookcase into the jeep. Dalan and I painted and Dalan put together all the furniture.  Quinn wa so anxious to get her new bed with the ladder. I also crafted some mermaid scale art.

We still need to hang up a few things and get some more decor for top shelves of her bookcase, but I love how the room turned out.  Most importantly, Quinn is over the moon excited about it.

And some comparisons to her original nursery.

And some photos of the process.

(Had to put on her mermaid costume!)

Father's Day

We had a really nice day on Father's Day this year.  Dalan spent the morning putting together for Quinn's big girl room. (More on that to come when it is all the way done). He is totally the best dad ever.

Then we headed up to the Little's house for a BBQ. The girls swam and played and the adults ate and visited.

In the evening, we had another BBQ with at my parents' house. It was a nice evening.

36!

I turned 36 last week!  Can you believe it?  I am officially closer to 40 than 30.

I had a great birthday.  In the morning Quinn and I played in the yard. She woke up at 6 am! And the bitch about not being able to drive anywhere is that we kind of trapped here at home with a lot of time on our hands. Oh well, we made the best of it.

We then celebrated by riding the Ferris Wheel and grabbing lunch at Costa Vida. In the evening, I went to my mom's house for chicken enchilada and chocolate cake.  I was more than spoiled by everyone.

Over the weekend, we went up to Park City to ride the Alpine Slide and do some shopping at the outlets. Everyone got a happy so that was a successful trip.

Liberty Park

We went to Tracy Aviary last Friday for their annual free day. This is the third year in a row we have done it, and it was hot! We ended up going through pretty quickly because we were all over heating a little. Next, we went over to the splash area in the park.  It was much cooler and Quinn played Avengers (which she has never seen, but has vast knowledge about) in the streams and lakes. It was a really nice day.
