Dear Quinn 2016

Dear Quinn,

Wow!  You turned six years old yesterday.  It doesn't seem possible, but here we are. You are officially school aged, and a big kid now.  I have had a little bit of disbelief about your age, but you assure me that you will always be my baby, even though you are not a baby anymore. And you have promised to cuddle with me for the rest of your life, even when you are 14, so I am totally holding you to that promise.

You have grown and learned so much this year.   I am continually amazed at you and all you know.

In school, you have learned how to add and subtract and your handwriting has improved so much. You have started to finally like to color pictures and you write some great sentences.  You had some anxiety in school this year, but have learned to relax and not be so hard on yourself.

You love to play tee ball, and can mainly hit the ball without the tee now.  You are not always the most focused player, but you are always having a great time.

You love to play with your doll house and all your little figurines.  You can spend hours in your room, just playing and playing.  You also love Barbies and Captain America.

You love books, and you are a great reader. You got into the gifted reading program at school next year. You are so excited for 1st grade. You are also looking forward to losing your first tooth.

You love your cousins and your friends. You have never met a stranger and will talk the ear off of anyone who listen. You love animals, especially your puppy Clementine.

You are a great listener and a great helper most of the time. You will usually do anything with a smile on your face, and are a really easy kid to parent.

You are not a great eater.  Ha, ha.  You have like 5 foods that you will eat and other than that, good luck at getting you to eat.  Oh well, as long as you keep growing.

We have your 6 year old well child check next month, but you are around 34 pounds and 42 inches.  I think that makes you the size of an average 4 year old.  You wear size 10 Toddler shoes, and somewhere in the 4-6 range in clothes depending on the brand.  You have a long torso, so you grow out of shirts in length before width.

We love you so much.  You seriously bring so much joy into our lives.  You are the best and we are so excited to see how much you grow and learn this next year.  Thanks for being awesome!

Love,

Mom and Dad
